In 1977, Estes' Model Rocket News (MRN) requested entries for a photo contest. One winter afternoon, my friend Kenny and I pooled our money for a single roll of film, took 24 pictures of our rockets, and once they were developed, sent in our favorites.

We both won!

Kenny's picture was featured in the newsletter (I'm in the list down in the corner).
